About NOWEWO
NOWEWO stands for Now We Work. It is a digital notice board where employers and job seekers find each other on language, skills and availability, and then talk directly. We are starting in the Netherlands.
Why we exist
All over the world, people live and work in a country whose language they do not speak well yet. Many of them are good at their work, and many employers need exactly these people: in the kitchen, the salon, the garden, the warehouse or at a customer service desk. Language should help people find work, not stop them.
A real team
Behind NOWEWO are people, not just a computer. We check new vacancies ourselves, sometimes with a short WhatsApp message to the employer. We look at reports and take fake vacancies offline. Do you need help? Send us a message via the contact page; you may write in your own language.
What makes NOWEWO different
- Search by language: employers and job seekers find each other on the languages they speak, with the level.
- The website in 19 languages, with short sentences and big buttons.
- Practical work and office work, or both. No CV needed for practical work.
- No agency: you talk to each other directly, on WhatsApp or by phone.
- Your phone number stays private: employers invite you, and you decide if you reply.
- Always free for job seekers.
What we believe
- Language is a skill, not a barrier.
- Everyone deserves a fair chance. Only objective language requirements are allowed, never requirements about origin, age, gender or religion.
- Simple for everyone: your own language, short texts and big buttons.
- Direct contact, without an agency in between.
What we do and what we do not do
We are a neutral notice board. We show vacancies and profiles and make direct contact easy. We do not select candidates, make no contracts and pay no wages. Employer and job seeker make their own agreements.
Your privacy: as little data as possible
- We ask only for what is needed. No password, no CV and no photo of yourself.
- The phone number of a job seeker is never shown on the website.
- Your WhatsApp number is stored encrypted. Only our server can read it, to send you an invitation.
- Vacancies and profiles go offline after 60 days unless they are renewed.
- Photos are only visible while your card is online. When you remove your card, we delete everything.
- We do not sell data and we show no banner ads.
Costs
Job seekers always use NOWEWO for free. Posting vacancies is free. Employers can pay to make a vacancy stand out; it then carries the label Featured.
Coming soon: more countries
Right now NOWEWO is for work in the Netherlands, with contact via WhatsApp. We are preparing NOWEWO for more countries. In every country we want to use the chat app that people there use most, for example WhatsApp in Indonesia and Turkey, LINE in Thailand and Japan, KakaoTalk in South Korea, WeChat in China and Zalo in Vietnam.
